Arunkumar HG (b.1968, Dombekoppa, Karnataka) comes from a background in farming, which explains his concerns over food and consumption. He attempts to probe the anomalies inextricably linked with production and consumption. The table made by him lay with the spread and the ceramics adorned with motifs are apparently a visual treat. A closer look reveals the deliberately deceptive facet of it all. The ceramics bearing prints of hands of the hapless farmer with their palms opened out is a clear metaphor for a crisis on the part of the producer. It also signifies the unalterable geographical conditions and flawed economics that turn out to be fatal for a nation
